| Last season we added acoustical leak detection equipment to our arsenal of tools. This new tool helps us pinpoint non-surfacing leak locations in sprinkler systems and water service lines. Currently all of our staff is trained on basic leak detection and within minutes we can tell you if a leak is in your sprinkler system, your service line, or within your house. If we determine the leak is in your sprinkler system we can use wire locating equipment to trace your main line. From there we can survey the main line for leaks with our new acoustical equipment. The source of any constant leak in a sprinkler system will be somewhere within the main line of the system. Most commonly, leaks are found at the zone valves. Leaks in service lines can also be located using the same tools but in some cases service lines are better off replaced than repaired, galvanized pipe being a good example. Another example is when leaks are found under large concrete slabs or garage floors. In this case re-routing the service line from the meter to the house is usually more cost effective then ripping out concrete and then re-pouring. A majority of our customer base has an in ground sprinkler system and many of them have lighting systems as well – so when choosing a contractor to replace your service line choose one that will properly repair damage to the other systems in your yard. Many plumbers consider damage to these systems as your responsibility to resolve, for Aquasense it is our specialty. | ||
