Home Water Pressure Issues
A variety of issues can result in either too low or too high water pressure in your home. If you think the pressure in your home is too low start by calling your water department and asking what they think the pressure should be at your house. If they say it should be above 60 PSI then most commonly there is a Pressure Reducing Valve somewhere on your property that is either turned down too low or has gone bad. Other reasons for low pressure include an old galvanized service line that has become corroded. Homes built prior to 1970 commonly were constructed with galvanized service lines which now probably carry at most half the water they did when they were new. See Service Line Replacement for more info.
