Aquasense Sprinkler System Installation Specifications and Guarantee

Thanks for the opportunity to bid on your sprinkler system. Our goal is to provide you with a competitive price for a quality installation that will save you money over the life of your system through reduced water consumption and maintenance. If you are looking for a reasonable bid for a quality system, choose Aquasense.

Why choose Aquasense?

Quality Construction: If providing repair work for over 4000 systems doesn’t open your eyes to what works well and what doesn’t, nothing will. That’s why all of our systems will be constructed in the following manner.

The connection point to your main water line in most cases will be made outside the house. This allows for maximum water flow, which enables us to cover the landscape with the least number of zones reducing the overall cost of the system. All connections to main water lines will be made with quality fittings; we work with all the standard pipe material including copper, poly, galvanized and brass. All main line connections are made with matching metal fittings, for poly pipe service lines we use brass fittings.

The piping of our systems is a combination of poly & schedule 40 PVC. Most installers use class 200 PVC exclusively which shatters like an egg shell when hit with a shovel. Schedule 40 PVC on the other hand can withstand being run over by a car on pavement and not break. Poly pipe is a flexible pipe that if hit with a shovel usually dents and then bounces back to its original shape, it won’t shatter. We don’t use any Class 200 PVC. Unlike 90% of other sprinkler installers we use a machine that stitches pipe into the ground. The machine maneuvers well through tight residential landscapes and will lay pipe easily under lawns, flowerbeds or gravel areas with minimal surface damage. The efficiency of this machine allows us to provide the highest quality systems at very competitive prices. When comparing bids ask other bidders what kind of pipe they are using.

Design Know How: The more uniform the coverage the less water it will require to adequately water your property, and that’s why we design all lawn areas with head to head coverage. Head to head coverage provides you with matched precipitation rates which results in high distribution uniformity. Let me provide you with a typical example scenario: Your whole lawn is green from watering 10 minutes every other day except for one small dry brown area. Solution: Most people will increase watering time on the whole zone to adequately water the small brown area. Result: As a consequence of adequately watering a small brown area you are over watering the majority of the lawn. This is how matching precipitation rates in lawn areas conserves water. Matched precipitation on shrub zones is not as important since shrubs generally have much larger and wide spread root systems. Matched precipitation is usually not attainable either since shrubs usually end up blocking spray patterns to some extent. So when comparing bids for your system make sure you compare apples to apples, lots of the landscape sprinkler contractors have never even heard of distribution uniformity or matched precipitation, we have because we are licensed landscape sprinkler auditors.

Service: Our primary business is service; once your system is constructed we offer a spring activation service and a winterizing service. Ask other bidders if they offer sprinkler servicing; if they don’t you have to ask yourself if you will ever see them again once your check clears.

Warranty: All of our systems are guaranteed for a period of 3 years from the date of installation against defects in parts and workmanship if the owner has us perform scheduled maintenance on the system. Winterizing is required for the warranty where spring activation is optional. Although spring activation is optional it is highly recommended the first season because newly installed heads have a tendency to lean over in the freshly trenched soil after a few months. If you elect to skip the Spring start up and there is a warranty issue with the system, you will be billed a once a year $58.00 trip fee + $7.50 per zone over 6 zones, then the warranty will kick in to cover any additional labor or parts.
